Why does my image look checkered?
The checkerboard in the preview represents transparent pixels. The pattern is never included in the file. Your image viewer may also use a checkerboard to show transparency.
Does this remove a photo’s background?
No. This creates a new blank transparent or single-color image. It does not edit existing photos, and you don’t need to upload anything.
Can I make a partly transparent color?
Yes. Choose Color & opacity, select a color and adjust the slider. At 0% opacity it is invisible; at 100% it is fully opaque.
What sizes can I create?
Choose positive whole numbers up to 8,192 pixels per side, within a total of 16 million pixels. Large images may depend on your browser’s available memory.
